1968
Imagine a fabric ideal for outdoor living, unchallenged for over 40 years. Åke Nordin transformed rejected tent material into the durable G-1000 fabric in 1968, making it the mainstay of the iconic Greenland Jacket, a lasting product from Fjällräven.
2010
In 2010, G-1000 Silent addressed noise in outdoor fabrics, featuring a brushed, smooth texture for quiet movement. Retaining G-1000's qualities, it's ideal for conservation and hunting. The same year, G-1000 Lite debuted as a flexible version with rip-stop threads, offering tear resistance and light waxing for summer outings.
2011
Introduced in 2011, G-1000 Eco is Fjällräven's eco-conscious fabric, woven from recycled polyester and organic cotton, minimizing environmental impact. G-1000 Heavy Duty, double-treated with Greenland Wax, enhances durability in resilient products.
2017
The latest in the G-1000 range, G-1000 Air, enhances trekking comfort in warm conditions. Its lightweight, unwaxed design with a looser weave maximizes breathability. G-1000 Air Stretch, a high-quality, organic cotton, and recycled polyester blend, ensures durability and unrestricted movement in outdoor garments.
