As an outdoor company, Fjällräven are aware the impact that each one of use has on the environment around us and do the utmost to keep our environmental footprint as small as possible. From design, materials to manufacture it is in the forefront of their mind.
Fjällräven design garments with you and the environment in mind. Using timeless styles, with functionality and longevity at the forefront. Each piece is tried and tested vigorously, ensuring it will last from season to season, and can eventually recycled.
Fjällräven balance a material’s functionality and efficiency with the environmental impact. When possible they will use recycled organic and renewable materials. Traceability of all natural materials is a priority and animal welfare is of the upmost importance.
Fjällräven are fully committed to improve working conditions, reduce environmental impacts and eradicate mal-practice and corruption. They are members of both the Sustainable Apparel Coalition and Fair Labor Association and are signed onto the UN Global Compact.
They have a long-term goal to reduce the environmental impact on the planet. Fjällräven are currently climate compensating some of their product range, such as the Eco-Shell garments. They support renewable energy projects that have been verified by the UN and certified according to the Gold Standard, an independent quality assessment of carbon dioxide emission reduction projects. Their goal is to reduce our CO2 emissions by 25% by 2020 and become completely carbon neutral by 2025.
